STEVE BENNETT
OWNER
Company owner and local to the area, Steve established more than a carpenter inc in 2005 with a strong foundation in ethics, efficiency, and Craftsmanship. Steve earned a bachelors degree in forestry, specializing in Wood Products from NC State University, and started his career in the cabinet industry with over 10 years as a cabinet builder and installer. He provides the company with years of practical industry knowledge as well as an ability to troubleshoot and find solutions. Steve enjoys his work, but would rather be spending time with his wife and daughter, riding his bike, being active with activities and service at church, or simply enjoying the great outdoors.
BRAD WELCH
ESTIMATION AND NEW CONSTRUCTION MANAGER
Native to the region, Brad possesses a MBA and Bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Nebraska, and an Associate of the Arts degree. With a background in commercial real-estate development, business management, marketing, metal working, HVAC, and electrical, Brad provides the team with sound business principles as well as a working knowledge of the construction industry. When not working, Brad would rather be mountain biking, adventure racing, and camping.
LARRY SCHMOLL
MASTER CARPENTER - PROJECT LEAD 008
Born in Ohio and growing up in Rochester New York gives Larry a great blend of Midwestern genuineness and Northern work ethic. Beginning his career in accounting, Larry quickly recognised his love for building and switched gears with a degree in construction from Alfred State College in Up State New York. During his tenure, Larry has accumulated a great deal of knowledge in all facets of the building trades. Ranging from concrete and block to framing and siding. Larry moved to our area 23 years ago continuing a successful siding and repair business as he had in New York. With his vast knowledge, high moral values, and great character, Larry became a natural fit for the More Than a Carpenter Team. When not at work, Larry would rather be cooking, shooting, and working with children through Child Evangelism Fellowship.

MARILYN BENNETT
FINANCE
While the rest of the team is out swinging hammers and making your building plans come to reality, Marilyn is at the office doing the hard work of making sure all our billing and paperwork is in order. Marilyn has a background in the sciences, and a head for numbers. She handles all the job tracking (crew hours,purchases,and subcontractors per project), produces all our payroll, pays our subcontractor, keeps all our insurance current, handles all the taxes, does our invoicing, and more. She is truly the glue that holds the business of MTAC together. When she is not working hard on our behalf, Marilyn invests much of her time volunteering at school and church. When she does have free time, she enjoys being outside, gardening, and playing golf and basketball.
